November 1st, 2006There should exist in-ear headphones which use a skin capacitance sensor (you know, the kind they have in those lamps that you can turn on just by touching them) that treats them as unplugged when they are not placed in the ear, so that, with an iPod or any other music playback device that turns off automatically when the headphones are unplugged, if you remove your headphones from your ears (for example, to answer a phone, or when someone is talking to you), it will automatically stop playback.
